Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026 · Shield of Steel LLC · Tennessee Lic. #14310
Shield of Steel LLC ("Shield of Steel," "we," "us," or "our") is a veteran-owned, founder-led security firm headquartered at 2682 Lamar Ave, Memphis, TN 38114, serving Tennessee and Mississippi under Tennessee Private Protective Services license #14310. We protect people, property, and information for a living, and we hold ourselves to that same standard when it comes to your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what personal information we receive, why we receive it, how we handle it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to our website, our contact and assessment forms, our careers application, and the phone and text channels we publish.
We wrote this document to be read, not skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, contact us at 855-SOS-1555 or [email protected] and we will answer plainly.
Our Privacy-First Promise
Most privacy policies begin by listing everything a company collects. Ours begins with what we refuse to do, because that is the heart of how we operate. On this website and across our business:
- We run no third-party advertising and we are not part of any ad network.
- We set no marketing or tracking cookies, and we use no tracking pixels, beacons, or fingerprinting.
- We use no third-party analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no behavioral profiling running on this site.
- We do not engage in behavioral tracking and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
- We do not broker, sell, or rent your personal information, and we never share it for anyone's marketing purposes, not ours, not a partner's, and not an affiliate's.
This is not a temporary posture or a marketing slogan. It is how the business is built. Because there is nothing to track, honoring privacy signals costs us nothing, and we honor them anyway as a matter of principle.
The Limited Information We Actually Receive
We are not in the business of harvesting data. The only personal information we ever hold is information that you voluntarily give us through one of a small number of deliberate channels. We do not collect anything in the background, and we do not buy personal information from data brokers or anyone else. Specifically, we may receive:
- Contact and security-assessment forms. When you reach out through a form on our site, we receive what you type into it. Typically this is your name, your phone number or email address, your organization or location, and a description of the protection you are seeking.
- Careers applications. If you apply to join our team, we receive the information you submit in support of your candidacy, which may include your work history, certifications, licensing details, and references.
- Phone calls and text messages. When you call or text a number we publish, we receive your phone number and the contents of your communication. Calls to our published numbers may be recorded and transcribed, as described in the Call Recording section below.
That is the full picture. If you never fill out a form, never apply, and never call or text us, we are not quietly accumulating a file on you. Standard web server logs may briefly record technical request information such as an IP address for the limited purpose of operating and securing the site, and we do not use that information to identify, track, or profile visitors.
SMS and Text Messaging Terms
This section governs text messages between you and Shield of Steel. Please read it carefully before providing a mobile number.
By providing your mobile phone number to us, whether through a form, an application, or a conversation, you consent to receive operational and service-related text messages from Shield of Steel. These messages relate to matters such as scheduling, dispatch coordination, alarm and patrol updates, assessment follow-up, and account or service communications. We do not send marketing texts.
Message frequency varies depending on the nature and stage of your engagement with us. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you reply STOP, we will stop sending service texts to that number, except for any final message confirming your opt-out. For assistance, reply HELP, or contact us directly at 855-SOS-1555 or [email protected].
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on factors outside our control, and we cannot guarantee that every message will arrive on time or at all.
Your mobile phone number and your SMS consent are not shared with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Opting in to text messaging is never a condition of receiving our services. You are free to work with us without ever enrolling in text communications.
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information you provide only for the purposes you would reasonably expect, namely:
- To respond to your inquiry, prepare a security assessment, and provide quotes or recommendations.
- To deliver and coordinate the services you engage us for, including scheduling, dispatch, mobile patrol, alarm response, event security, executive protection, and related operations.
- To evaluate and process careers applications and to communicate with candidates.
- To send operational and service text messages where you have provided a mobile number, as described above.
- To maintain the quality, accuracy, and security of our dispatch and operations, including the review of recorded calls.
- To meet our legal, licensing, and regulatory obligations under Tennessee and applicable law, and to protect the safety of our clients, our personnel, and the public.
We do not use your information to advertise to you, to build a marketing profile, or to feed any data broker or ad network.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We do not use cookies for advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking, and we do not deploy third-party analytics or tracking technologies. The only cookies our site may use are strictly necessary, essential cookies required for the website to function and remain secure. These are never used to follow you across the web or to profile your behavior.
Because we have no interest in tracking you, we honor "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals and the Global Privacy Control (GPC) sent by your browser. In practical terms there is nothing for these signals to switch off, since we do not track in the first place, but we respect them as a clear expression of your preference.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information for marketing purposes under any circumstances. We share information only in the narrow situations described here:
- Vetted service providers. We may share information with a small number of trusted processors who help us operate, such as a secure form host, communications and messaging providers, or our hosting infrastructure. These providers act only on our instructions, are bound by confidentiality obligations, and may use the information solely to perform services for us, never for their own marketing.
- Legal and safety requirements. We may disclose information when we are legally required to do so, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or lawful request from a regulator or law enforcement, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of our clients, our personnel, the public, or Shield of Steel.
- Business continuity. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of our business or assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to the commitments in this policy.
In no case do we hand your contact details, mobile number, or SMS consent to third parties or affiliates so they can market to you.
Call Recording
For quality assurance, training, dispatch accuracy, and security, phone calls to our published numbers may be recorded and transcribed. Recordings and transcripts are treated as confidential, are accessible only to authorized personnel, and are used solely for the purposes stated here and to fulfill our service and legal obligations. If you prefer not to be recorded, you may reach us in writing at [email protected].
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was provided, to deliver and document our services, and to satisfy our legal, licensing, insurance, and recordkeeping obligations under Tennessee and applicable law. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or securely destroy it. You may request deletion of the information you have provided at any time, and we will honor that request except where we are legally required or permitted to retain certain records. To make a request, contact us at 855-SOS-1555 or [email protected].
Data Security
Security is our profession, and we apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information entrusted to us against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Where relevant, our Cyber Command practice supports this work with a managed security operations capability, incident response, and controls self-attested against NIST SP 800-171 at CMMC Level 2. That said, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to share sensitive details through a phone call or a direct, secured channel rather than by unencrypted email.
Your Privacy Rights
We extend the following rights to every visitor and client, regardless of the state or country you live in, not only to those whom a specific law happens to cover. You may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete the information you have provided, subject to legal and recordkeeping limits.
- Opt out of service text messages at any time by replying STOP, and opt out of other communications by contacting us.
Because we do not sell or share personal information for marketing and do not track or profile you, there is no data-broker pipeline or advertising profile to opt out of. To exercise any right, contact us at 855-SOS-1555 or [email protected]. We will respond promptly and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Children's Privacy
Our website and services are directed to businesses and adults, and they are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Third-Party Links
Our site may occasionally link to third-party websites for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. This policy applies only to Shield of Steel, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit through a link from ours.
International Visitors
Shield of Steel is based in the United States, and we serve Tennessee and Mississippi. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States under U.S. law. By providing information to us, you understand that it will be handled as described in this policy, and we extend the privacy rights above to you regardless of where you are located.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and your continued use of our site or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
