Text Messaging (SMS) Terms and Opt-In
Shield of Steel LLC texts customers and prospective customers from 855-SOS-1555 (+1 855-767-1555) and our Memphis office lines. We send only operational and service messages: replies to your questions, assessment scheduling and follow-up, dispatch, patrol and alarm updates, and account notices. We never send marketing texts.
How you opt in
We text you only after you agree in one of these three ways.
1. You text us first
If you send a text to 855-SOS-1555, we reply to your message in that conversation.
2. Our website assessment form
The assessment request form at shieldofsteel.com/pages/contact has an optional checkbox, unchecked by default. Its exact wording:
"Text me about this request at the number above. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Optional, not required to get an assessment. SMS terms."
Leaving the box unchecked never affects your request. We contact you by phone or email instead.
3. On a phone call (verbal opt-in)
When a caller asks to be reached by text, our representative or automated receptionist reads this script word for word, and enrolls the number only after the caller says yes:
"Shield of Steel would like to send operational and service text messages to your mobile number regarding scheduling, dispatch, patrol and alarm updates, assessment follow-up, and your account. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. We never share your number or consent with third parties for marketing, and texting is optional. Do you agree to receive these text messages at this number?"
The date, time, and number of each verbal agreement are recorded in our system.
What we send
Message frequency varies with your request, typically one to five messages per assessment or service issue. Message and data rates may apply. Examples:
- "Shield of Steel: Thanks for your assessment request. A senior officer can walk your site Thursday at 2 PM. Reply YES to confirm or suggest a time. Reply STOP to opt out."
- "Shield of Steel: Officer Ramirez is on site at Gate 3 and will remain until 0600. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- "Shield of Steel: We received your message and a director will call you within the hour. Reply STOP to opt out."
Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. We send one final message confirming the opt-out and nothing after that. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at 855-SOS-1555 or [email protected].
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your privacy
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Opting in to texts is never a condition of receiving our services.
