Vape-group in 6th-grade hallway. Officer calmly redirects, walks group to dean, maintains presence without escalation. Dean handles discipline; officer never touches a student. Incident resolved in 8 minutes.

Q · 01Are your school officers armed?
Only if the school requests it and local licensing permits it. Most K-12 contracts are unarmed with PD liaison; most higher-ed contracts include an armed supervisor. The right posture is the one your board is comfortable with after assessment.

Yes. Every school contract includes quarterly ALICE drills with faculty, administrator tabletop exercises, and PD-coordinated lockdown practice. Drill documentation retained for annual state compliance.
Q · 03What background checks do officers pass before starting?
FBI fingerprint, TBI state check, National Sex Offender Registry, driving record, drug screen, and Tennessee Department of Education school-security clearance. Every officer. Every assignment.
